What Happened
The Indian rupee managed to finish higher on Friday, achieving a weekly upswing bolstered by a jump in dollar liquidity as a special deposit facility approaches its end. Early drops were countered by inflows that led to position unwind. Although month-end importer needs put pressure on the rupee, advantageous flows due to MSCI rebalancing offered relief.
