What Happened
Coal India has raised concerns about the coal gasification incentive scheme's rules. The company believes the short bidding window disadvantages state-run firms. Excluding captive power plants from eligible costs also creates a disadvantage. Coal India requested a six-month application period for the initial round. The ministry rejected this, citing immediate subsequent bidding rounds.
